Branislav Strugar je rođen u Beogradu 1949. godine. Bavi se fotografijom od 1968. godine. Kao član foto-kluba "Elektromašinac" od 1970.do 1979. godine učestvovao je na 107 izložbi i na njima osvojio oko 40 nagrada i diploma. Ima zvanje Majstora umetničke fotografije Foto saveza Jugoslavije.

Profesionalno se bavi fotografijom od 1974. godine. Član je Udruženja likovnih umetnika primenjenih umetnosti i dizajnera Srbije (ULUPUDS) i Saveza novinara Srbije. Više od dve decenije bio je zaposlen kao fotoreporter u TV Beograd, da bi 1996. napustio stalnu službu i dobio status samostalnog umetnika fotografije.

Godine 2002. dodeljeno mu je zvanje Istaknutog umetnika fotografije ULUPUDS-a, a 2008. godine dobio je NAGRADU ZA ŽIVOTNO DELO "za celokupno stvaralaštvo i doprinos razvoju primenjenih umetnosti i dizajna".

Od 1980. godine učestvovao je na tridesetak grupnih likovnih izložbi. Član je žirija na različitim izložbama fotografija i drži predavanja na kursevima fotografije, kao i na Fakultetu za marketing i komunikacije u Beogradu.
Imao je 16 samostalnih izložbi.

U domaćim i inostranim knjigama, časopisima, prospektima, nalazi se više od 10.000 njegovih snimaka. Radio je plakate, kalendare, naslovne strane knjiga i časopisa, razglednice.

Objavio je 13 autorskih monografija: Pećka patrijaršija, Studenica (velika), Studenica (mala), Sopoćani, Ostrog, Kotor, Crna Gora - Ekološka država, Srednjovekovni srpski novac, Manastir Dečani, Crna Gora na razglednicama, Crna Gora (turističko izdanje), monografija Budva i Beograd, raskršće vekova i puteva.

Branislav Strugar was born in Belgrade in 1949. He has been active in photography since 1968. As member of the Elektromašinac Photo Club, he exhibited his photographs in 107 exhibitions and won 40 awards and diplomas. He holds a title of a Master of Photography of the Yugoslav Association of Photographers.


He started his professional career in 1974. He is a member of the Association of Applied Arts Artists and Designers of Serbia (ULUPUDS) and the Association of Journalists of Serbia. He worked at the Television of Belgrade as photojournalist for over twenty years. In 1996, he left the post and gained the status of independent artist of photography.


In 2001 he was awarded the title of an Outstanding Art Photographer of ULUPUDS, and in 2008 received the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD “for his work and contribution to the development of the applied art and design”.


Since 1980, Branislav Strugar has taken part in some thirty group photography exhibitions, and has been member of the jury at several exhibitions. He also has lectured at photography courses and on Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade.


He has held 16 one-man photography exhibitions.
Over 10,000 of his photographs have been published in domestic and foreign books, magazines, and brochures.

His work includes posters, cover pages, calendars, post cards, and 13 copyrighted monographs: Pećka Patrijaršija, Studenica (large), Studenica (small), Sopoćani, Ostrog, Kotor, Dečani Monastery, Montenegro – the Ecological State, Srednjovekovni srpski novac (Serbian Medieval Money), Montenegro in Picture Postcards, Montenegro (tourist edition), monograph Budva and Belgrade, the Crossroads of centuries.
